It wasn't all high fives in Arizona today however, as both Colorado and San Francisco won earlier in the day negating the possibility of the Dodgers padding their divisional lead, and news leaked about Clayton Kershaw doing his best Andre Ethier impression. Things didn't quite work out as well for Clayton though...
Clayton Kershaw will miss his next scheduled start, Friday in San Francisco, with a bruised right shoulder. He injured the shoulder during batting practice on Sunday, running into the outfield wall while trying to catch a fly ball.It was his non-throwing shoulder, so that's a sigh of relief, but really? Can we not have one of our best pitchers shagging balls in the outfield from now on please? Next thing you know, Mark Loretta will require Tommy John surgery after practicing for possible relief appearances. Come to think about it, I guess that wouldn't be a total wash.

Did you see how frustrated Manny was with Scherzer in his 1st AB? Scherzer was not letting him settle in the box at all. I've never seen Manny that uncomfortable. He had to keep holding up his right hand asking for time out while he was digging in. Of course, he ended up getting the best of Scherzer that AB.
Turning to the plunking of Martin, it doesn't get any more intentional than that. I was just waiting for Padilla to strike back, but it never came?? Maybe they're really going to rub it in by having Garland throw at his ex-teammates tomorrow. Sweeter revenge indeed.
If Padilla retaliates, he's out, and we have to use more of the bullpen. Now, I happen to trust our relievers more than Vicente, but he was pitching well enough, and we can't afford to give Torre more of an excuse to burn up the pen.
I figured the Padilla plunk was going to come around the 100 pitch mark, as he'd be exiting the game anyway.
I guess emotions had settled down over the course of the game.
