Brace Yourselves

I can already see the Bills (Plaschke and Shaikin) foaming at the mouth with an "I told you so" swagger. Surely if the Dodgers had Roy Halladay, the Bills will write, he would have shutout the Cardinals. The single run scored by Los Angeles would have been enough for the victory since the Dodgers finally had a true "ace" on the mound. The Cardinals wouldn't have piled on the runs at the expense of McDonald, Leach and Mota because Halladay would have tossed a complete game, figuring he's already camping out all night.

The 4 GIDP's, including two by Manny? Nonsense.

The 20 men left on base? Irrelevant.

After all, with Halladay on the mound the Dodgers are already guaranteed to win the World Series, so how hard can a game in St. Louis (where the Dodgers are now 3-15 since 2004) really be?
-----------------------------

That extra bullpen arm the Dodgers so desperately seek? I think we found him.

Nice post, Brandon. I can tell that you share our disdain for Plaschke's over-emotional hyperbole-filled writing. If we gave up Kershaw or Loney for Halladay, Plaschke would probably have been salivating; anybody who's watched the team the last couple of weeks knows that we need our core guys more than ever down the stretch.
